Festivals & Events

Find your spot. Meet your people. Taste your way through every corner of culture and pocket of paradise. Whatever your thing is, we're probably celebrating it. You coming?

There's always something BTR to do.

We don't need a reason to celebrate, and neither do you. From funky festivals and local parades to world-class performances and competitive races, the good times are always rollin' in Baton Rouge. Whether you’re dancing in the streets at Mystic Krewe of Mutts, savoring the good eats at the Jambalaya Festival, or rocking out at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival, each event tells a story of culture, community, and a whole lot of pride. So, grab your friends, your dancing shoes, and let’s get this celebration started!

Food & Music

One of the things we do best is live music. The other thing we do best is authentic food. Combining both of these gives you the full Baton Rouge experience. Head to the annual Baton Rouge Blues Festival for legendary performances and check out the Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival for a delicious dose of local flavor. Looking for a casual hangout? Stop by Live After Five every Spring and Fall for free  live music weekly.

Parades & Celebrations

Every year, Baton Rouge hosts dozens of local parades and cultural celebrations. We've got Baton Rouge Mardi Gras, including the highly-anticipated Spanish Town parade. Throughout the city, families, friends, and neighbors gather to watch colorful floats, catch beads, and celebrate carnival season together. There's also the epic "Wearin' of the Green" St. Patrick's Day Parade, which travels along a beautiful historic parade route down Perkins Road.

Sports & Athletics

Fans are like family, and we've got them in droves. Baton Rouge is home to some of the country's most entertaining and competitive sporting events. Tailgate on LSU's campus for football, baseball, and basketball games, cheer on the Southern University Jaguars and their Human Jukebox Marching Band or catch a Zydeco hockey game downtown. Baton Rouge also puts on the Louisiana Marathon, with thousands of runners coming in from almost every state to compete, eat, and celebrate.

BTR Things Are Coming in 2025.

Better in BTR is a multi-media marketing campaign and website designed to celebrate and retain the incredible talent already thriving in Louisiana’s Capital Region. By showcasing why this is the best place to grow both professionally and personally, we’re fostering pride in our community and solidifying Baton Rouge as a place to stay and succeed.
