From Law School to Entrepreneurship, My Story Starts in Baton Rouge
Shortly after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, my wife and I moved to Baton Rouge so I could attend Southern University Law Center. My goal was to attend law school and start a sports agency firm. But, instead, I dropped out of law school and entered the MBA program at Southern. While matriculating through the program, I met a group of fellow entrepreneurs, and together, we built what is now known as Suds Laundry Services. At Suds, we help real community members have a better work-life balance by picking up, washing, and delivering their laundry right to their doors.
Upon graduation, I worked in corporate America for three years. After grasping practical experience in the fields of human resources and corporate strategy, I left to pursue my entrepreneurial aspirations fully. Now, I find myself pouring into the community that poured into me, from increasing residents’ quality of life by doing laundry at Suds to teaching students at Southern University about business strategies and entrepreneurship.
It’s a unique city, full of celebration, sports, culture, music, food, business opportunities, and more.
If New Orleans is a melting pot, Baton Rouge is a gumbo. It’s a unique city, full of celebration, sports, culture, music, food, business opportunities, and more.
Community Around Every Corner
Baton Rouge makes it easy to build community. I still keep up my ties within the Southern University community. I am also a member of 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, a program that prepares youth and young adults who can lead the way and become the next generation of leaders.
On the entrepreneurship side, my company started working with Nexus Louisiana and the Nexus Tech Park in 2021. That organization transitioned from consultants for Suds to our best cheerleaders. Additionally, shortly after dropping out of law school in 2016, I began working with Louisiana State University’s football team in recruiting and player personnel. What started as a working relationship eventually became a business partnership. They are now one of our largest clients, but we still consider them family.
Speaking of family, I can’t leave out my beautiful family when talking about community. As a proud husband, my wife, our two daughters, and our son are the core of everything I do. No goal of mine is ever developed without considering them and the impact it will have on their lives.
The Story of Sud’s Laundry Services: A Need the Community Didn’t Know It Needed
When we began Sud’s Laundry Services in 2018, there was no existing market for what we were doing. No one was really asking for delivery and laundry service. Still, we felt like the city and surrounding areas should have the same luxury of not doing laundry or picking up dry cleaning as that busy worker in New York or that fabulous Los Angeles mom. Now, we provide those services to the Greater Baton Rouge community, giving residents more time to do the things they love. Our slogan is Never Do Laundry™, and our team is always ready to take a load off of you.

Work Hard, Play Harder
As an avid football fan, I love spending weekends at LSU football games or tailgating at Southern University. Outside of football season, my family and I love attending festivals or other outdoor and family-oriented events that showcase some of Baton Rouge’s local culture and entertainment.
